Chair's Update November 2022

Dear members,

I am delighted to announce that our conference team led by Gemma Crundwell are well underway with preparations for the two-day BSA Scientific Meeting that will be taking place on June 5th and 6th 2023, in Birmingham. The event will focus on the excellent work of the BSA Groups as well as offering a range of speakers, the first of whom is Harvey Dillon! Please do hold this date in your diaries and get planning your poster submissions as we intend to celebrate our award winners and poster contributions over early evening drinks on day 1.

With this in mind, I am also very pleased to let you know that the BSA are now offering more awards to celebrate the achievements across our membership. They include our new David Baguley Mentorship Award, as well as one for those developing new research as an undergraduate or postgraduate – the full list of awards, with all descriptions and details will follow in due course. These will be launched to membership imminently so please do have a look and consider who should be recognised for their work. Moving forwards, you will always have the opportunity to submit a nomination via our website so that you don’t have to remember details months later. The BSA Council will review all submissions at the March Council meeting, the awards announced at the Annual General Meeting and presented at the Scientific Meeting.
