Stakeholder Consultations

New BSA guidelines are produced via a rigorous process of internal review and external peer review before being offered for stakeholder (public) consultation. The full process is described here. Stakeholder consultations are open for a period of two months and the BSA advertise this as widely as possible through its own and partner channels. Submissions to a consultation should be formatted as requested by the BSA. Given the volume of responses, unformatted or late submissions may not be processed. We welcome responses from all individuals, whether BSA members or not. The responses are anonymised by the Professional Guidance Group (PGG) prior to provision of an aggregated response to the authors. Following a stakeholder consultation, the PGG assess whether the authors of a document have dealt with comments sufficiently.

We strongly advise all respondents to provide evidence that support their statements. Whilst personal opinions may be acceptable, the authors are less likely to consider submissions without rationale or evidence.

Minimum Training Standards for Aural Care – Public Consultation
Opened: 28 July 2025
Closed: 30 September 2025

The National Aural Care Strategy Group and the British Society of Audiology are aware ‘Section 9: Training Course Accreditation’ of the Minimum Training Standards in Aural Care is an essential part of the document and is currently incomplete. We are working on identifying awarding bodies, however prior to advancing to the accreditation of training courses, a public consultation is essential to gather feedback on the Minimum Training Standards. Establishing these standards will serve as the benchmark against which training courses will be evaluated.

Establishing these standards will serve as the benchmark against which training courses will be evaluated. We look forward to receiving your feedback.

Please download the consultation form and send to bsa@thebsa.org.uk by 30 September 2025.

Please note that we will only accept responses which have been submitted using the provided consultation form.
