Chair's Update March 2023

Dear Members,

I hope this email finds you well. Thank you for all the nominations we have received for the BSA Awards, it is an exciting time as these nominations are now reviewed and the winners determined, we look forward to sharing information about the award winners at the Annual General Meeting during our Scientific meeting on June 5th & 6th in Birmingham. Don’t forget that the early bird registration for this event ends in just a few days’ time on Friday 17th March. I would also like to thank all those who took part in our World Hearing Day competition, a huge well done to all 12 people that entered and especially to the winner who receives a year’s free membership and a professionally printed copy of their work in addition to its circulation to Audacity, and distribution for display at GP surgeries.

Last month I mentioned that there was a tender process underway regarding the new BSA website. Two companies have now been interviewed and our task group are making their final decision about who will be the creator of our new website! An exciting project that will hopefully launch in the summer this year.

It is a busy time of year as the officers, trustees and advisors work on both the BSA annual report and preparation for the March Council meeting. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to everyone for their help and support with the extra reporting that is required and look forward to sharing the annual report with you all at the AGM.
