WHO expression of interest for hearing aid pre-qualification programme

07/02/2025

The World Health Organization (WHO) has started to map the requirements that would support the development of a prequalification program for hearing aids. The aim of such program is to develop a list of accessible hearing aids that meet quality standards. Such list would assist, for example, in improving hearing health care in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC).

Here, you can read more about the WHO’s existing prequalification programs for other products.

We are looking for a few advisors to support this project’s early development, focused on hearing aids. Would you like to submit an expression of interest (EoI) to provide expert advice on this project? Your expertise can relate to technical, health services, clinical, lived experience and/or regulatory aspects. The core of the project will take place early in 2025. The advisors will be asked to review and provide advice on a small number of written documents. EoIs can be submitted via this survey by 14 February 2025.
