Nominate your audiologist for a prestigious industry award
Do you know an amazing audiologist who deserves recognition for their work?
Nominations are being sought for this year’s Audiologist of the Year (AOTY) awards for hearing professionals across Europe, giving you the opportunity to say thank you to your audiologist.
Now in its eleventh year, the competition honours the UK’s top hearing professionals, as voted for by their hard of hearing and deaf patients, who have received excellent levels of support, service and care from their audiologist. The winning audiologists from each country then go head-to-head for the overall prize of European Audiologist of the Year.
Since AOTY began, there has been a total of 10 European winners, 65 country winners and 264 commended audiologists from across Europe who have been recognised for going above and beyond the call of duty.
With the search for this year’s winner well underway, entries are coming in thick and fast from hearing patients who are sharing their inspiring stories and nominating their audiologists for the award.
Entering the competition is free and easy. People are encouraged to complete an application form, explaining in between 50 and 1,000 words what makes your hearing professional special. The judges will be looking for entries which show how an audiologist has:
• Demonstrated dedication and care
• Looked after you or a family member
• Made an impact on your life as a result of their care
• Exceeded your expectations
• Provided exceptional knowledge about your care
Paula Brinson-Pyke, Director of Marketing at Rayovac, said: “There are so many talented hearing care professionals out there making a difference to people’s lives. Audiologist of the Year is an opportunity to celebrate those individuals and say thank you to the people who have really gone the extra mile.
The winning nomination is eligible for a £250 cash prize and a gift bundle worth £200, while the winning audiologist receives the accolade of being recognised for their excellence in the hearing industry.
The competition is organised by Rayovac, a world-leading hearing aid battery manufacturer* and division of Spectrum Brands Holdings Inc., in partnership with Audio Infos, a leading international hearing publication for the audiology industry, the European Hearing Instrument Manufacturers Association (EHIMA) and the European Federation of Hard of Hearing People (EFHOH).
The independent judging panel is looking for examples of an audiologist’s outstanding commitment to the patient, the difference they’ve made to the patient’s life, their knowledge of new technologies and examples of how they work in partnership with other specialists.
After the country winners are announced in September, the winners will then go head-to-head before one overall European winner is revealed at the annual Evening of Excellence taking place at the EUHA event in October.
The competition will close on 6th July, 2018. For more information or to download the Audiologist of the Year materials, visit: http://www.audiologistoftheyear.co.uk/
