House of Commons Petitions Committee – fireworks event – 2 July
The House of Commons Petitions Committee is currently looking at fireworks. The Committee recently ran a survey on this topic and a number of responses were received from people with a wide range of health conditions and disabilities. The Committee is hosting an event in Parliament on Tuesday 2 July at 7 pm to hear more about people’s experiences and also to discuss potential compromise solutions.
People with hearing problems and their families found that they are adversely affected by fireworks. They would like to find out whether this is something that the BSA has come across. They are keen to invite people with direct experience of the impact of fireworks if possible and, where this might not be feasible, they are keen to hear from those who support or work with those who have this experience.
