Chair's Update September 2025

We are delighted to congratulate Deborah Vickers as the new President Elect for the European Federation of Audiology Societies in 2025 & 2026; this will lead to being President in 2027 & 2028 and Past President 2029 & 2030. Deborah kindly provides an EFAS update in Audacity and we look forward to hearing more about the work of this great organisation.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to get in touch about representing the BSA at the World Congress in Audiology in 2026. We received 14 expressions of interest and are now delighted to be working with Verity Langlands and Silvia Di Bonaventura to plan the special session that we will be offering. The BSA will continue to look for opportunities to support our members to engage with events of this type.

Following our most recent Council meeting, the potential of the BSA was discussed. We would like to engage our membership in debate about the best use of our funds. We will send specific membership communication about this in due course, but in the interim we would welcome any larger ideas about how we build on our strengths and dedicate our resources.
