Chair's Update May 2024

Dear members,

With a little over a month until the BSA Scientific Meeting, have you booked your place yet? Taking place on Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th June at the BCEC in Birmingham the programme includes presentations from Dr Eithne Heffernan, Professor Steven Bell, Dr Guy Lightfoot, Dr Hannah Stewart and Dr Lauren Hadley, and, sessions including Applications of Machine Learning to the Auditory Brainstem Response and The Clinical Evaluation of a Modified Fmp in Infant ABR Tests. Please do review the full programme for all the meeting has to offer BSA-Programme-2024-1-1.pdf (thebsa.org.uk). Don’t forget that if you are not currently a member of BSA, you are very welcome to join us and, benefit from our 1-year free membership offer.

We will be delivering our Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Scientific Meeting where we will provide a summary of the BSA annual report, reflecting on the past year’s achievements, activity and finances whilst also looking to the future. To help us do this we will be launching the new BSA Strategy which has been developed with the support of trustees and advisors (thank you to everyone that has provided input to these discussions). Once the new strategy is in place, we will be setting specific targets to help us meet our new strategic aims which we will share with you over the course of the year.

The Scientific Meeting is also our opportunity to celebrate the achievements of those who have been nominated and won one of the BSA annual awards as they receive recognition for their work. And, in the evening of the first day we get together to review all the scientific posters that have been created and displayed as those voted the best are recognised. Come join the celebrations!

Kind Regards

Donna Corrigan
