Chair's Update June 2025
Welcome to this month’s BSA e-update.
Work on development of Paediatric Audiology Services continues at a pace, and we look forward to the outcomes of the independent review led by Camilla Kingdon and the recommendations that will come out of it. The public consultation phase of this inquiry has recently closed, but further information on this review can be found here.
I would like to extend a special mention to our international members. We now have BSA members from 32 countries and we are delighted to welcome you. To widen our international engagement further one of the avenues that we are currently exploring is the conversion of our guidance documents to individual webpages which enables more convenient translation.
Enormous thanks to Constantina Gorga for her tenure as chair of the Electrophysiology Special Interest Group (EPSIG). This is one of most prolific and active SIGs and it has been exciting to see the recent developments. Many congratulations and thanks to Emanuele Perugia for stepping into this role. Furthermore we also can’t thank Sara Coulson enough for her leadership in BSA Online Learning. Sara’s oversight and pedagogical knowledge has been responsible for this powerful and interesting resource.
If you have a resource that you use in your adult rehabilitation clinics that could be useful to other sites, we have the Sound Practice virtual library that could be used to share. Resources can be uploaded directly onto the site and cover a wide range of file types; from protocols and patient information to service pathways and videos.
