Chair's Update June 2024

Dear members,

As I write my 30th and final chairs e-bulletin message and after chairing my final BSA Council meeting, I feel incredibly grateful to have been given this opportunity. It really has been my honour to have served the BSA and its membership, first as Vice Chair and then Chair over the past 5 ½ years.

I have met and had the pleasure of working alongside the most passionate and dedicated BSA team including past and present Trustees, Advisors and members as well as our management team at Fitwise.

The knowledge I have gained both professionally and personally along this journey has been invaluable. Next week, at the Annual General Meeting in Birmingham I will be handing the reigns, or to be precise, “the medal” to Siobhan, who I have no doubt will be a great Chair and continue to move the society forwards, especially as we launch our new strategy and create our new operational plan.

I’ll be around a while yet as “Immediate Past Chair”, and, given that I was Chair of the Professional Guidance Group, before my time on council, means that I have now volunteered over 10 years to the BSA, it truly has been a great experience and one of exponential growth.

Anyone reading this that has or is considering joining the BSA team, please do!

Special Interest Groups often advertise steering group opportunities, our Research and Development Group are currently hoping to gain new members and BSA Council are also seeking a new Trustee to lead our Membership Communications work, both are great opportunities to join a society that advances knowledge, promotes learning, informs good practice, and drives positive impact in the field of audiology.

Kind Regards

Donna Corrigan

BSA Chair
