Chair's Update August 2024

Dear members,

Welcome to this month’s BSA e-Update after what we hope was the opportunity to take a breath and have a break this summer. As we step off our sun loungers and take off our sunglasses there are lots of exciting audiology events and activities to look forward to in the autumn!

It is lovely to share congratulations with long term BSA member Dr John FitzGerald for receiving an MBE for services to Audiology and healthcare science. It is richly deserved, and we are delighted to have the pleasure of working with him. Multiple presentations at the BSA Scientific Meeting in June were dedicated to James Lind Alliance (JLA) Priority Setting.  These presentations gave attendees the opportunity to hear about both the outcomes and the process from the perspective of the professionals and families involved. We have further information in this update, and are looking forward to hearing more as this work progresses.

Look out for us at the World Congress of Audiology (WCA) in Paris this September! There will be Posters, Talks, and Round Table appearances from BSA members. If you are going to a conference and would like to provide a review of the event for BSA members do get in touch. We love to hear about what members are doing and events that might be of interest.

Best regards

Siobhan
